" And what makes you think they won't kill you? Because I am one of them."

This book is about a girl named Charlie, who comes to Hurricane, Utah to reunite with her friends on the anniversary of the death of Micheal. The group of freinds, Marley, Jessica, Lamar, Carlton and John decide to check out Freddy's Fazbear Puzza and try to find the mystery of Micheals death. This book is very good. The setting is definitely creepy. The animatronics are very creepy as well. The characters are not well developed and none of the main characters die. SPOILER BEYOND! Carlton gets stuffed in an animatronic suit and is told by Dave that he should not move. Carlton gets rescued by Charlie. Charlie seems to save everyone! I loved the flashbacks that Charlie experiences. This book was a fun read but also I was expecting more. Charlie was very awkward.

" I'm not afraid of storms, for I'm learning how to sail my ship. Well, I've never feared bad weather, either."

This book is about a woman named Venessa, who was married to Richard. Richard is engaged to her replacement. Venessa wants them to break up. Why? Well read the book to find out. This book is an amazing book it felt like a lifetime movie. I really liked Venessa (the main character), I related to her so much. I will mention that there is physical abuse in this book. There is three main twists in the novel and I was surprised by all of them. I also loved the way the book was told, the book has flashback scenes interspersed in the present. I highly recommend this book. It also reminded me of the movie Single White Female. This book is filled with drama.

"Way up high, in Rapunzel's window, Benny saw a large shadow. Benny thought it looked like a man with a huge mustache. The man seemed to be waving his hand and smiling. Benny smiled and waved back. But when Benny blinked, the man was gone."

This is a story about the Aldens, who goes to Wintham Manor and they find a journal with clues to a secret treasure. This book was very smart. Each clues was a poem. The poem would lead them to a different location in town. It reminded me of a scavenger hunt. The poem was hard to figure out. The poems were fun because you can try to figuire out what it means. This was a pretty solid children's story.

"I cry for everyone I've hurt withdrawing from life. Mom never stops stroking my shoulder, or my hair, a gentle contact anchoring me. I pull in a slow , deep cooling breath and realize the hurt has lessened. I feel scraped and stinging inside, gutted like the jack-o'-lantern sitting on the ground outside the clinic door. Except somewhere in the aching emptiness I see a spark, a flicker of my own, the light Daniel would've wanted me to finally find. Hope."

This book is about a girl named Emma, she is greifing over her boyfriend Daniel's Death. Then one day she meets Alex Frank and she is swooning over him. This book was an overall disappointment. I love Frankenstein and reimaging of Frankenstien from movies, books and tv shows. I thought I was going to love this. BOY WAS I WRONG! Emma is emo, emotional and not looking for love until she meets Alex Franks (the new boy in town). She falls head over heels in love with him. This definitely had more romance than horror. I didn't really like the characters so, I didn't care what was happening to them. I did like the writing. The story gets really good in the last 50 pages. I also felt like nothing really was happening. This book was also predictable.

"Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny once lived on their own in a boxcar..."

This is another childrens mystery. The Aldens are helping out at a local garden. They notice that the tomato plants seem to move everyday. Then they find out that there is a bank robbery and it is up to the children to find out the mystery. This book was an ok mystery. Granted this was meant for children. I know who the robber was from page one. This book was predictable. I did like that Benny was good at hidden pictures puzzles. Sadly this book was a miss for me.

"It was a beautiful day. It was a beautiful field. Except for the body."

This is about a boy named Jazz Dent, who is the son of the worlds infamous serial killer Billy Dent. When a dead body turns up in Lobo's Nod Jazz is determined to find the killer with the help of the police. I am not going to lie, going into this book was boring. It was not what I wanted , but as I was reading I grew to like this book. This book reminded me of the show Dexter except, Jazz feels. Jazz has a best friend and a girlfriend. Jazz is also afraid he is going to end up like his dad. Jazz knows how to manipulate people and has an intimate knowledge of murder. Jazz also has recurring nightmares and tells us what he knows about murderers. I liked Jazz catch line "People are real. They matter." This is definitely a dark read and Jazz has some flaws. This book also has the serial killer point of view and he is creepy. I knocked off a star because the serial killer catches Jazz. Overall I liked the book and is planning to read the next book.

Not If I See you First

Not If I see you First by Eric Lindstrom

"The rules: Don't deceive me. Ever. Especially in publix. Don't help me unless I ask. Otherwise you're just getting in my way or bothering me. Don't be weird. Seriously, other than having my eyes closed all the time, I'm just like you only smarter. Everyone has secrets. Everyone is a secret."

Parker Grant is blind and doesn't let it get in her way one bit. She insists on being treated normally and fends for herself well. She even goes running alone every morning, no guide dog or other form of guidance present. she's strong and spunky, sometimes to a fault. Eric Linstrom shows that even with her blindness, Parker is just as capable as everyone else. Sometimes she's rude and stubborn so she's not a main character you're going to fall in love with instantly, but her perseverance and growth over the course of the novel makes Parker worth rooting for. This book made my heart happy! Parker is unlikeable, rude and stubborn. She also doesn't judge, is bluntly honest and keeps to herself. I loved reading about a blind character. Parker only sees darkness and reconizes peoples voices. Lindstrom does a brillant job in bringing blindness to life in a book. I also loved the friendship in the book. The journey Parker takes is amazing! I also loved that Parker was a runner. The romance was not my favorite and I felt like it was forced. But the end of the book was amazing."Just how fast can I run? I mean really? Time to find out."

"Meghan and I talked about music-She loved Ella Fitzgerald. "What about all the hip acts that college kids love? Do you like any of them?" "Like who?" "I don't know all their names, Snoop Diggity Do and all those hip cats." Meghan shook her head and laughed. We talked about movies- She loved anything made before 1964. No wonder I thought she was older; she was an old soul in a young body."

This is a sequel to The Christmas Shoes. Nathan is now a medical student in his third year and he realizes that there are still things to be learned about faith, blessings, and sacrifice. Lessons he will learn from Meghan Sullivan- a young woman with a hole in her heart that has not kept her from becoming a champion runner. And lessons learned from a young boy named Charlie, who teaches him how to live a life of true courage. Together, they will help guide Nathanthrough the darest peroid in his life. I loved this book. This book is about a man named Nathan and he is a med student. He is having a tough time and putting himself down because of the death of people in the hospital. Then he meets Meghan. Nathan falls in love with her. Meghan has a hole in her heart and she loves to run. Meghan was very insprational. I also loved Mike, the big, african american that was a nurse and Nathans' roomate. This book made me laugh and cry. It was an emotional roller coaster. If you are looking for a inspirational book to read during the Holiday season, this is it!

"There were dragons, in his dreams, as though some part of him knew the trials were not yet over, that there were battles yet to be fought. He slept fitfully, fidgeting, tossing and turning, groaning and crying out in his sleep."

This is the story of how Sheriff G. William Tanner caught the serial killer Billy Dent. I didn't really like this novella. 1) It was too short. Billy Dent murdered more than 2 people before he got caught. 2) William Tanners voice was exactly like Jasper Dents Voice. Lyga, they are not the same character. 3) The ending was rushed and was not believeable. William almost dies by Billy. Then William tells Billy to handcuff himself to the table. What! Is a serial killer really going to listen to a cop. This really wasn't for me.

"You don't have to stop thinking and asking questions to believe in God, child. If He'd wanted a flock of eight billion sheep, He wouldn't have given us opposable thumbs, much less free will."

When She Woke is about a girl named Hannah, who gets chromed- Red because she murdered her unborn child. This book is compared to "The Handmaids Tale" and " The Scarlett Letter." Religion plays a huge part of this book. This book does have rape, violence, abuse and is totally fucked up. In the beginning Hannah goes to a half house to live but she is treated badly. The counselor tells her to make a doll and carry it with her at all times. This book also tells us about her family. Rebecca (her sister) is abused by her husband. Hannah deals with being raped by a woman and I thought that was not nessary. This book was ok but I didn't really understand the ending. I felt like there was no closure to the story.

"Mac didn't move. Couldn't. Something had happened while he sat three rows back, watching her on the stage. Seeing her smile, seeing tears in her eyes. Just seeing her. He was in love with her. It was nothing he'd ever experienced. Nothing he knew how to handle. Running seemed the smartest solution, but he didn't think he could move."

The story starts with a letter to Santa asking for a mom. Zeke and Zach Taylor want a mom for their father, Mac. Then Mac meets Nell and is attracted to her. Will they end up together? I didn't really like Mac. He hated women and made assumtions. He wasa real jerk and I wanted to punch him. Zeke and Zach were really cute and amazing! Nell was pretty amazing too! She is a music teacher at the local high school. She is very passinate about music. There was one sex scene which was laughable. I also loved the focus of family and living in a small town.

"She sighed and moaned her pleasure and he relaxed when she melted against him. They started moving to the music again while Derrick's hands explored the flat planes of her back and then slipped beneath the lining of her panties to curve around... around_ what on earth? He stopped and pulled out a strange padding."

This is about a girl named Isabella who is marring Randell. She doesn't love him and is marrying him for political power. She meets Derrick Knight, who she connects with and she falls head over heels in love with him. I really liked the main character. Isabella was easy to relate too. I also loved how Isabella and Derrick met. They met at a bookstore. I liked the comedy in the book. I didn't like the sex in the book. It was unrealistic and it seemed like they were in collage or high school. Randall was an asshole and he was cheating on his fiancee with two different girls. At the end of the book Derrick gets kidnapped and his drunk friends easily recuse him which was unrealistic. This book just was not for me.

"Have you learned nothing from this journey? Magic is a drug. You can't just go around eating everything that sparkles."

This book starts with a boy named Worstly. One day he is visited by a pixie Staph and told that he is the Chosen one. He doesn't believe her so she gives a goat the power of speech. The goat who's calls himself Gustave and Worstly leave the farm to find his destiny. They meet a slew of characters. Toby, who is a dark lord and wants Worstly heart to make a potion. Fia who is a Fighter and a vegatarian and wear a chainmail bikini. Acrabella, the bard who doesn't sing good songs. And Grinda, the rogue who has an irrational fear of chickens. My Favorite character was Gustave (the talking goat). I loved his perspetive and I loved his conversations. For example when he first talks to Worstly he calls him the poo boy because his cleans up his poo. This book reminded me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It is rediculously funny! There is a sweet female/female romance. I also loved the unque characters. The audiobook was amazing and all the voices are different. The downside of the book is it does get repeative. Toby is really dumb and funny. I recommend this for fans of Dungeons and Dragons.
